Sad Thoughts on a Quiet Poet

Primary tabs

I received the sad and shocking news today of the death of a poet. I spent a memorable weekend with Tiffany Austin and several other women poets at the inaugural Drawing Room Project (DRP) Writers’ Workshop at Country Thyme, Highgate, St. Mary in 2014 guided by Christine Craig (it was the first time I had actually written a poem – well, not since I was about twelve years old, anyway!) I found Tiffany’s presence quietly thoughtful and in her poems, the words weighed, considered and absorbing each other. In this great interview, indeed, she describes her work as “not necessarily loud, but contemplative.”
